A palmfringed paradise, naturally sheltered from the raw tropical wilderness all around it, the place is magic. The exquisite harmony of nature, architecture and design.
The Nay Palad Hideaway (formerly Dedon Island) nestles between ancient mangrove forests and the white sands and crystal clear waters of the sea. Nay Palad is a small exclusive all-villa resort located in a coconut grove along a beautiful beach on the south-eastern tip of Siargao Island (Surigao del Norte Province), about 800km southeast of Manila. The location is close to the famous Philippine Deep and the legendary surfing wave, Cloud 9, the Philippines’ surfing capital. The barefoot luxury resort is a project of Bobby Dekeyser, founder of Dedon, the German luxury outdoor furniture brand.
Rattan chairs and swinging daybeds fashioned by master weavers are among the furnishings showcased by this exquisite resort owned by soccer star turned furniture maven Bobby Dekeyser. Open showers in the center of the bathroom are lined with beautiful local tiles and surrounded by white beach pebbles; doors and walls are made from recycled wood turned into lattice; and local-wood headboards are whimsically carved with coconut trees and birds.Nine large and stylish thatched villas are dotted across manicured gardens within the four-acre property. Each has been built using recycled wood and features an open shower, large veranda and contemporary interiors.
This hotel resort includes a trampoline surrounded by an installation-worthy lattice sculpture, an outdoor cinema, and a weathered-wood sea pavilion reached by a leisurely swim. Villas are flawless, right down to details such as organic soaps wrapped in banana leaves and embellished with a seashell. Delicious and simple dishes rely on fresh local ingredients, such as grilled mahi-mahi with calamansi fruit. Guests are allocated an “adventure manager” who assists in planning and organizing all activities and decisions regarding dinner arrangements. The activities range from getting a massage in the villa, watching a favorite movie in an outdoor cinema, to sailing and kayaking from Nay Palad’s beachfront or mangroves.
