The somewhat dated dark wood and carpeting of the old Regency has been replaced with a light, airy, modern European look: lots of glass, marble, and soft white, silver and blue fabrics. Designers Rottet Studio have created an imperious lobby with marble floors, soaring 24ft-high ceilings, and private coves furnished with plush velvet couches where guests and visitors gather to relax. The 379 fresh, residential-style rooms and suites have plush Frette bedding, ergonomic work areas, walk-in showers, and/or tubs, plus New York–centric mini-bar items like Mast Brothers chocolate. (As per the requests of female business travelers, the rooms also have well-lit bathroom mirrors and powerful, salon-grade hair dryers.
In-room bath products are from stylist Julien Farel, who also oversees the 10,000-square-foot salon and spa, which opens at 7 a.m. to cater to the "power beauty" crowd. There's also a 24-hour fitness center, and a separate JF Men grooming salon located near the reimagined Regency Bar & Grill, now run by the Sant Ambroeus group. Other dining options include a cushy lounge, a separate Milanese-style café and takeaway spot, and a fine-dining restaurant serving meals all-day—starting, of course, with the Power Breakfast. In addition to serving classic American fare for breakfast and lunch, the 540 Park restaurant also transforms into Feinstein’s, a cabaret dinner spot with past performers ranging from Michael Feinstein to Tony Danza.

The 540 Park restaurant is the self-proclaimed “birthplace of the power breakfast.” For a more casual meal, head up the street to Viand, a small, affordable diner.
