Mandarin Oriental Tokyo is a famous for its luxury accommodation, amazing position with breathtaking views over the city and extraordinary hedonism experiences. However, they have managed to expand the Mandarin Oriental experience by adding a lavishing Helicopter Flycation adventure. Japan in spring is magnificent as cherry trees blossom everywhere turning the country into landscapes of light red and pink. Now imagine how astounding the view on all these colors is from the sky. Mandarin Oriental Tokyo designed a tour in the sky for experiencing the best of Japan.
The Flycation adventure starts at the Mandarin Oriental Tokyo Oriental Suite, a luxurious 100m2 room with a splendid view of the Mountain Fujiyama that inspires and prepares for the exciting aerial experience. From the rich atmosphere of the room the adventure continues in a spacious interior of Eurocopter Hermès Edition, the helicopter that has calf leather seats specially made by Hermès and is known for the extra-quiet ride inside the cabin. The limousine transfer from the hotel to the helipad is as well enjoyable.
The UNESCO world heritage site and national treasure, Mount Fuji, is a 3,776-metre (12,380 ft.) high dormant volcano 100 kilometers southwest of Tokyo. Its breathtaking, gentle symmetrical lines and snow-capped summit have come to represent Japanese serenity and made it the country’s national symbol. In spring, blossoming cherry trees create a pink carpet at the foot of the mountain, and from July 1, the official, summer-long Mountain Fuji climbing season begins.
But before the view over one of the planet’s most iconic volcanic calderas, the views of Sagami Bay and Lake Ashinoko appear almost astonishing as the sight of the mountain. Cruising above the magnificent landscapes is an unforgettable experience. On the the return flight, the pilot makes a pass by the country’s tallest building, the 2,000-foot-tall Tokyo SkyTree tower. The adventure ends with a bottle of Ruinart Brut Rosé Champagne N.V waiting at the suite.
There are experiences made for relaxation and others for excitement, but Mandarin Oriental Tokyo succeeded in combining the two into a lavishing adventure.
