A mythical refuge nestled at the tip of Cap d’Antibes, facing the Mediterranean and the Lérins Islands, Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc embodies the legend of the Riviera. It is here that the major names in art, cinema, literature, politics, business, and royalty from the around the world have crossed paths from the very beginning. 2020 will mark the iconic hotel’s 150th anniversary: a century and a half dedicated to the eternal quest for excellence.
To celebrate this exceptional milestone, Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc has decided to offer a new dimension to the gastronomic experience in its different restaurants and bars. Heading the establishment’s culinary identity for the past 27 years, Executive Chef Arnaud Poette will now be advised by Eric Frechon, three Michelin starred Chef at Le Bristol Paris. Chef Frechon will be joining Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc as Chef Consultant in January 2020. Sharing the same values and a strong rapport, Arnaud Poette, and Eric Frechon will mobilize their talent to infuse Hotel du CapEden-Roc’s kitchens with an added touch of elegance and creativity. It is not a revolution, but a delicious evolution to discover upon the season’s opening.
“For Arnaud Poette, our Executive Chef of 27 years, the decision to invite a Chef Consultant to aid us in achieving our objectives is a terrific opportunity. We are aware that the changes must be gradual to cater to the expectations of our loyal guests. Eric Frechon will work hand-in-hand with Arnaud Poette and his team on every aspect of the hotel’s restaurants to write a new chapter in their unfolding history and define a specific strategy for an updated offering at each one. In conjunction with this exciting project, we intend to completely renovate our Restaurant and Grill, all whilst conserving the spirit of these two unique settings overlooking the Mediterranean. We are very happy to welcome Eric Frechon to Cap d’Antibes. His talent, his expertise, and our shared vision for the project will make Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc shine even brighter into the future.” Philippe Perd, General Manager, Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc
“I often say that cooking is sharing—with the customers, of course, but also with the team. With Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, we already share the same culture, as Le Bristol Paris—where I have lived my passion for the past 20 years—is part of the same family of hotels, Oetker Collection. I have a particular affection for Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc because we have very strong values in common: uncommonly high standards and a ceaseless ambition to push the limits of perfection. It is a true honor for me to offer my knowledge in service to this grand establishment.” Eric Frechon
